1- How do you make edge-to-edge printed tea towels?
Creating beautiful, custom-made tea towels through edge-to-edge printing is a process that involves several detailed steps. This printing method allows your unique design to cover the entire surface of the towel, from one edge to the other, leaving no area unprinted. The process is a bit more complex than traditional printing methods, and as such, it requires a bit more time. Here's a breakdown of how we do it:
1- The first step in the process is printing on the fabric roll. This involves taking your chosen design and printing it onto a large roll of flour sack fabric. We use state-of-the-art printing technology to ensure that every detail of your design is captured perfectly. This step is crucial as it sets the stage for the rest of the process.
2- After the design has been printed onto the fabric, we then cut the printed fabric to the size you want. This involves precise measurements and careful cutting to ensure that the final product will be the perfect size for your needs.
3- The next step is folding the edges of the cut fabric, stitching them to create the tea towel. This is done with great care and precision, as the quality of the stitching can greatly affect the durability and appearance of the final product.
4- Finally, we steam iron the tea towels to remove any wrinkles or creases that may have formed during the previous steps. This gives the towels a polished, professional look. After ironing, the towels are folded and packaged, ready to be sent off to you.
Because of these extra steps, production times for edge-to-edge printing are about 3-4 weeks. This allows us enough time to give each step of the process the care and attention it deserves, ensuring that you receive a final product that meets our high standards of quality.
2- What is the "Bleed Area"? Why do I need to submit 29x29 inches files for 27x27 inches tea towels?
When designing your product, ensure your image is slightly larger than needed. This extra image, known as a “Bleed Area” or margin, is incorporated into the hem of the final product through folding and stitching and acts as a buffer for slight inconsistencies in the manufacturing process. It's crucial to fill your bleed areas fully to avoid unprinted strips on your finished product. To illustrate, consider the bleed area as an insurance policy for your design, ensuring your design will appear as intended, even if the print shifts slightly. This is why a 29x29 inches file is requested for a 27x27 inches tea towel, to account for this bleed area and ensure a professional and polished final product.
3- Can you align a pattern or design across panels of a garment?
Our team is committed to precision and quality in printing and constructing your tea towels. However, due to the unavoidable stretch or movement of fabric during stitching, perfect pattern alignment across garment seams cannot be guaranteed. This is particularly noticeable in designs with detailed geometric patterns. Generally, we maintain an accuracy within a 0.5" range, which is satisfactory for most designs.
4- Can I print my own labels?
Yes, you can print your own labels on our edge-to-edge products, adding your company details and branding. This allows you to brand your products and provide important information such as size, care instructions, and fabric content. The minimum order quantity of 150 pcs is required for us to print and stitch labels.
5- What are the image requirements?
For optimal results in custom tea towel printing, keep in mind the following image requirements:
1- 300 dpi image resolution
2- Use PDF or PNG formats for multi-colored or detailed files, but ensure they are flattened.
3- For simple colors and low detail files, a jpeg is sufficient.
4- Provide images in the RGB color space, specifically using the sRGB image profile, for best color results.
5- You can e-mail us the images by Dropbox, Google Drive or WeTransfer.
